880,000 people from 40 to 65 years of age will have free medical tests in 421 health centers of our country.
The person receives an appointment and will be oriented by nurses for the blood test. The results will be seen by the family doctor.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj, declared that besides the lab tests, there will be also advises.
“This program will address to the major premature mortality factors, such as hypertension, tobacco smoking, obesity, poor diet, physical activity, information, stress, depression, arterial pressure, BMI, ECG, blood formula, glycemia, iron tests, renal tests, etc”, Rrjepaj declared.
The Health Minister underlined that after removing VAT for medicine and increasing the number of medicaments in the reimbursement list, free medical tests are another kept promise.
“The government chose the universal coverage for the Albanian health care. We believe that we will bring down the barriers for many Albanians, and we will offer more security with the health care they deserve. Traditionally, the health system has been focused on diseases. Let’s try to focus on the good health. We must invest in prevention and early discovery. This is the reason why one of the main pillars for the four-year program is the basic health care for Albanians from 45 to 65 years”, Beqja declared.
