The General Directory of Metrology has fined five gas stations in Tirana
and one of them has been suspended due to abuses in quantities, by
manipulating the pump.
“So far we have visited 30 subjects, and five of them have resulted with problems. We closed one and others are working according to the rules”, declared Sami Gjeka, director of the Metrology Directory in Tirana.
Inspectors say that the most problematic are the ones in rural areas. Only during 2012 the directory has given more than 70 fines.
Part of this action where the gas distributors too, who according to inspectors are more regular due to the high risk they face in case of violations. However, there are abuses even here, and three of them have been fined for this year, while in 2012 there have been 13 fines in total.
