Two bulldozers have been working for 14 days to open the road that leads to the Frasher Commune, Permet.
The 15 km long segment is covered by snow and ice. The most problematic areas are Bredhi i Hotoves and Kokojka, where the snow thickness reaches 2 meters.
“This is the 14th day that we are working even overtime, with two vehicles. We don’t work for interest, but for opening the road to the isolated community of this area. We opened it after the first snow, but the second is proving very difficult”, declared Agron Turabiu, one of the workers.
The residents say that they are obliged to walk for 10 hours to receive food and medicine until the half of the road.
“We have been living for 40 days without food and medicine. The doctor came on foot and we walked for the medicine for 10 hours”, declared Mariana Naqellari, resident of the Frasher Commune.
The vice head of the commune, Robert Bonjo, declares that the situation is difficult and nobody is interested for the 9 villages that have been completely blocked.
“We have been isolated for 40 days. The center of the commune and 9 villages are still blocked. Most of the villages have no basic food for themselves and the cattle. We have raised the problem everywhere, and they told us that the Frasher road was opened, three days ago. Even today I had a debate with the road director, who said that the Frasher Road had been opened since three days”, declared the head of the commune, Robert Bonjo.
The reeve of the Frasher Village declared that they have finished the food reserves for themselves and the cattle. The entire area has been without electricity for the last 20 days, which the residents fixed themselves, since the CEZ workers had no way to reach the defect.
