Franko Frattini, “Citizen of Honor” in Tirana

The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, honored the former Foreign Minister
of Italy, Franko Frattini, with an award given in a ceremony that was
held at the Palace of Brigades.

The “Citizen of Honor” title was given to Mr. Frattini for his contribution in the efforts for granting the visa free travel to the Albanian citizens and for Albania’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

“The Key of Tirana” was handed over to the Italian diplomat by the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha.

Frattini reconfirmed the support of Italy on what he called “the new challenge of Albania”, receiving the EU candidate status for the EU.
