Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Ilir Xhakja will face court this Monday for the preliminary session on
four accusations, the worst of which is that of intentional murder in
qualified circumstances of Chief of Police Adem Tahiraj.
The Prosecution will address the 38-year-old for the murder attempt of a passerby and eye witness, the 67-year-old Lena Ndokaj.
According to confidential sources from the Prosecution, Xhacka is also facing charges for resisting to the arrest and illegal arm possession.
A source from the Prosecution confirmed for Top Channel that Ilir Xhakja is the only one being investigated for the murder of the Chief of Police, data that reject another source of the Durres Police, who say that they are looking for Ledin Krasniqi for murder charges.
This version in fact is rejected by Prosecution sources who say that the teen has not shot and has not helped the killer leave the scene, since Krasniqi has left on his own.
Sources say that Ilir Xhakja is held at the Durres detainment cells waiting to get transferred to a a prison with stronger measures in Tirana, while the Special Police are continuing the inspections on roadblocks.
Sources do not exclude a negotiation of the police to convince this citizen to turn himself in.
