The former US President, George W.Bush, joined the many personalities congratulating Kosovo for its 10th anniversary of independence.
Bush sent a message to Kosovo and mentioned the moment the USA recognized its independence.
“I was proud to accept the request for the USA to recognize Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state”, Bush wrote.
“Best greetings for the citizens of Kosovo, who celebrate the 10th anniversary of the declaration of President. In 2008, President Sejdiu agreed to take over the responsibilities deriving from the Ahtisaari plan to encourage freedom, tolerance and justice for the citizens of Kosovo, regardless of their ethnic background. I was proud to accept his request for the USA to recognize Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state. Ten years later, this historic day is a reflection of the country’s commitment to keep pursuing the highest standards of human dignity and to push forward the cause of freedom. Laura and I congratulate the people of Kosovo for this important day and send our best wishes for a peaceful, democratic and prosperous peace. God bless you all”, Bush says in his message.
