Alexander Arvizu, the former US Ambassador to Tirana, gave an exclusive interview for Top Channel from Washington, with journalist Muhamed Veliu.
When asked about the current political developments, Arvizu said that there is no logic to raise questions in 2019 about the elections of 2017.
“I believe that this government won a very legitimate mandate. There was a certain moment when the West trusted Basha”, Arvizu said, adding that part of this trust was lost.
“I think that the Rama government should have done more as regards listening to the people”, Arvizu says, but he admits that there have been positive developments, but also disappointments, such as the scandal with the Ring Road.
