The Albanian government is avoiding strategic projects by sending in the Vienna Summit those who have zero feasibility, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said in a media interview. Berisha said that one of the most important projects to be sent for approval is the Milot-Prizren railway, that will connect Albania and Kosovo and put both countries in the regional infrastructural map.
Nevertheless, Berisha valued the Vienna Summit, a second step after the Berlin initiative one year ago. “After inheriting the underdevelopment of former dictatorships, and after years of internal conflicts, Balkan countries are yet to have a common project. This initiative, started in Berlin, and now with the Vienna Summit and more summits to follow, is the perfect answer to this problem, he said.
He also called on the Albanians not to leave the country, but said massive migration is mainly due to the failure of the current socialist government. “Edi Rama killed the hopes of the people. Greece crisez started back in 2012, but then only 250 Albanians moved from there to Germany. He needs to take responsibility for his actions”, Berisha said, mentioning once again the involvement of persons with criminal records in parliament and public administration offices.
