Former political prisoners attempt protest

The former political prisoners tried to organize a protest a few minutes
after the arrival in Tirana of the US State Secretary, Hillary Clinton.

The protest aimed to attract the attention of the US high rank official regarding their problems.

A group of former political prisoners gathered in front of the Political Persecuted People’s institution, but the police stopped them from going any further. When they tried to transfer their protest to the main boulevard, the police intervened and took all of them under custody.

All of them were taken by police officers in plain clothes.

They were taken in police vehicles and were separated in several police districts, where they will be held for several hours.
