The court of Gjirokastra has ordered the detaintion of Florian Taçi, formerly high official of Gjirokastra’s property cadastre, while Alban Memishaj, former specialist of this department, has also been sentenced to prison.
The first level of the judiciary in Gjirokastër decided that Taçi and Memishaj will serve the days of detention in the High Security Prison in Bençë in Tepelena. Today’s hearing of the assessment of the measure of arrest lasted an hour and a half.
Prosecutor Gazmend Frengu has listed the legal violations found during the red-handed arrest of Florian Taçi and Alban Memishes, the former cartographer of the institution. The two defendants have violated the national Cadastre system by providing false ownership certificates in many cases, for various immovable assets.
After the presentation of the evidence by the prosecutor Frêngu, the lawyers asked for house arrest for their clients. But judge Entela Selmanaj gave the decision to leave the two former officials in prison indefinitely while the investigations continue.
