Tens of former miners held a protest today outside the Parliament of Albania, before the start of the plenary session.
They demanded the approval of the miners’ status and higher pensions, since the small amount they receive is according to them not even enough to pay for the medicines they need.
Their protest continued after the arrival of the deputies for the start of the parliament session, and at some moments they clashed with the police who asked them to stop continuing the demonstration.
“We want economic conditions. You have left the miners in misery and now we are suffering. Each of us should take 2-3 pairs of medicines. The ridiculous pension you gave us, is not even enough for the medications”, said one of the miners during the protests.
