The Montenegrin Police confirmed that the former Prime Minister of Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, has traveled through their country.
On November 11th, as confirmed by the Albanian Police as well, Gruevski entered the territory of Albania, using his ID card. He was travelling on a vehicle of the Hungarian Embassy to Tirana, accompanied by an official of this institution.
From there he moved to Montenegro and then to Belgrade, where he made an asylum request at the Hungarian embassy.
From there he travelled to Budapest.
The Hungarian government said that they are reviewing his asylum request, but analysts say that due to the EU pressure, being an EU country, Hungary may not be able to grant him asylum. That’s why Gruevski’s final destination may be Russia.
