The former bank director was arrested for robbing more than 100.000 EUR from his clients.

Genci Markollari, 37, deposited at the Central Bank less money than what five businessmen deposited at the branch directed by him.

In two years, Markollari has withdrawn a small amount of the money, bringing an economic damage of 100.000 EUR to the bank.

“Tirana Police force arrested Genci Markollari, 37, former Director of the Intesa Sanpaolo Bank at the Rinas branch. The 37-year-old had been working here since 2004. He has withdrawn cash from the virtual accoints and brought a 100.000 EUR damage to the bank. It is suspected that this criminal activity was made in cooperation with other employees for the past two years, from the accounts of five clients”, declared the Police Spokesperson, Alma Katragjini.

Markollari was accused of power abuse and falsification.
