Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Recent information from the National Institution of Statistics shows
that the Civil Registrar offices in Italy have had foreign workers who
have left Italy, and a smaller number of newcomers.
Compared to 2011 and 2010, these numbers have increased with 16% and have affected emigrants from several countries. Almost half of the foreigners leaving Italy are Europeans, 13rd of them Romanians who return to their homeland or chose other destinations.
According to Foundation Moressa, not all of them return home. Some migrate to other countries that offer bigger perspectives. But in general, this is a consequence of the economic crisis.
From 2008 to 2011, the number of unemployed foreigners has doubled in Italy, and the unemployment rates among foreigners is 8.5% to 12%, while for the Italians it is 8%.
