The Albanian Foreign Ministry launched direct critics to Albin Kurti for blocking the Kosovo border checkpoints with Serbia.

The Self-Determination Movement leader visited Tirana this Wednesday for mobilizing the Albanians in this action. This was called by the Foreign Ministry as an extremist act.

“The Albanian Foreign Ministry condemns the extremist appeals of some Kosovo Albanians for blocking the border checkpoints with Serbia. These actions, as a copy of the Serbian extremist policies, have nothing to do with the sacrifices and efforts of all Albanians for the democratic construction of the new state of Kosovo, in a multiethnic society of a state that builds and keeps good relations with the neighbors, in service of peace and stability in the region. The nationalist and pseudo-patriotic rhetoric does not serve to the major objectives of the Albanians for integrating with the European Union, and do not help the further recognitions of the new state of Kosovo”, declared the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Eva Kushova.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the energies of all political forces in Kosovo should focus in the interior reforms, the integration of all communities, based on the mutual respect between the sovereign and independent states.

Pack: Self-Determination action, craziness

The German European MP, Doris Pack, considered the action warned by the Self-Determination Movement for blocking Serbian trucks in Kosovo “a craziness that needs to be stopped”.

During an interview for Radio Dukagjini, Pack declared that Albin Kurti and his activists should not imitate the Northern Kosovo Serbs.

“This is a craziness that should be stopped. They should behave differently from the Northern Kosovo Serbs. This action makes Kosovo turn back in time”, Pack declared.

According to her, the action organized by on of Kosovo’s main parties shows that they do not respect the country’s Constitution.

“I feel ashamed when Kosovo MPs undertake such initiatives. I cannot accept that Albin Kurti is making such a thing. This shows that they do not respect the Constitution and the future of Kosovo”, Pack declared.

The Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, criticized yesterday the action warned by Self-Determination by calling them “Self-destruction”.

Thaci declared that their initiative is similar to Serbia’s political model, and he declared that no one can take power through violence.

The Self-Determination Movement members declared that they will start collecting the names of the citizens that will join their political action for blocking the border checkpoints with Serbia.

Albin Kurti, who received Top Channel’s award “Personality of the Year”, declared that if Serbia blocks Kosovo’s goods, then the Kosovo citizens should do the same.
