Today was held the meeting of the Foreign Parliamentary Commission with
officials of the Albanian Diplomacy. This occasion was used by the
opposition to return to their issue with the relation between the
government and the OSCE.
MP Aldo Bumci declared that our relation with the OSCE has reached the lowest historic point, giving as argument the fact that the organization doesn’t have an ambassador as representative. He said that the Ambassador has had his payment interrupted through a document of the Foreign Ministry, after the return of Spiro Koci.
“The withdrawal of the Ambassador is a very severe act. Albania doesn’t have ambassadors a the OSCE, while its presidency is led by Serbia. The President has also been removed of the constitutional right that makes him the only person who can decree or discharge any ambassador. This is the degradation of the Albanian diplomacy and of this government”, Bumci declared.
But the representatives of the Foreign Ministry, same as the chairwoman of the commission and of our delegation at the OSCE, declared that the relation with the organization is good.
“The increase of the role of Albania in the international arena, in the OSCE mission, and the reception of the EU candidate status, have brought a radical change in the relations with the OSCE”, declared Sokol Gjoka, Director at the Foreign Ministry.
“We will keep playing a principal role at the OSCE and other missions”, added the chairwoman of the commission, Arta Dade.
The parties did not exchange their stances on the same table, because the opposition left the commission. The cause this time was a debate between Chairwoman Dade with a member from the media, who received remarks from her for shooting a confidential report of the Foreign Ministry. After this debate, the media left the room together with the opposition.
But while some of the media outlets returned at the Commission, the opposition stayed outside.
