Football fixes, Kuze: Defamation

After the Greek Police declarations for the Albanian National Football
team being involved in fixed matches with a Greek organization, the
former coach, Josip Kuze reacted by considering them defamation.

“Kuze doesn’t bet. I am ready to come in Albania and Greece and face these accusations”, Kuze declared.

The former Albania National Team coach spoke for the first time after the scandal that broke up in Greece, where was also mentioned his name for fixing to matches.

“When I heard it at first, I started smiling, by then I was also concerned, because there’s nothing good in having your name mentioned in bad things. I have never heard about a person called ‘The Portuguese’. How can I control people that use my name on the phone?”, Kuzhe declared.

The Croatian Kuze gave explanations also for the two matches with Argentine and Montenegro, which have been considered as fixed.

“How many coaches change their tactics when they are winning? It is impossible for me to give money to the players? It’s impossible for me to buy Montenegro. With Argentina, I have previously declared that we will play with new players. The loss was normal, because two weeks ago Argentina had won against the world champion, Spain. We came from the holidays, made two training sessions and we were satisfied after the match, because the other coaches had lost against Argentina with scores like 8-0, and we were tactically good. My duty is to prepare the team tactically”, Kuze declared.

In many cases there have been public accusations by the European monitoring structures, but this is the first time that there are suspicions for fixed matches by the national team.
