The former politically persecuted people have escalated their protests that have been intensified in the last months.
Their target this time was the Prime Minister’s vehicle. Before entering the Parliament for the plenary session, the Prime Minister’s car was hit with flour sacks. The police took two former politically persecuted people under custody, Skender Tufa and Agim Kollcaku. The former prisoners said that this was an act for reminding the people that the government has abandoned them. They appealed all unemployed, retired and formerly persecuted people to protest every Thursday in front of the Parliament.
“All people in need and who suffer from this state must come out and ask for their rights. Our protest today was a representation of the citizens’ voice, because today we have acted as citizens. If we raise our voice, we can give to those who are treating us as cattle what they deserve”, declared Skender Tufa, a former politically persecuted man.
“The Prime Minister has left us without a job, without food, without the compensation for our time in prison. We undertook this revolt to remind the Prime Minister that we are still alive. We did not fear Enver Hoxha, and we don’t fear all communists that have important seats in the government of today”, declared Agim kollcaku, formerly political prisoner.
This is not the first time that the formerly persecuted people have reacted against the majority as protest against what they are calling a second persecution.
