Five trucks transporting about 40 cubic meters of illegally cut trees were seized by the police in the areas near Shkodra in Northern Albania.
Also, 8 persons were investigated for the criminal offenses “Illegal logging”, “Concealment of income” and “Exercising commercial activity without a license”.
Under investigation is also 1 forest technician in the municipality of Shkodra, for the criminal offense “Abuse of duty.”
“Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in Shkodra, in cooperation with the police services of the Police Commissariats of Shkodra and Malësia e Madhe, have made possible the seizing of 5 trucks transporting tree wood without proper documentation, 40 cubic meters of timber were cut illegaly “, said among other things the police in their notification.
