The two 25-year-old Albanian fishermen who were lost in open sea, due to
the bad weather, were miraculously saved by the crew of a tourist
cruiser.

The Albanian authorities failed to find Gezim Bashllari and Fatmir Ismailaj, despite the researches from the sea and air. Fortunately, the tourist ship “Costa Voyager”, which was on a Mediterranean tour, noticed the two young men in the sea.

The cruiser was heading to the port of Durres, when they noticed the fishermen in Adriatic waters, towards the Shkumbin delta. Hysni Ruci, Captain of the Durres Port, declared that the two fishermen are in good health conditions. They are tired, but saved. The fishermen from Vlora have finally touched ground after 30 hours at sea.

The tourist ship who saved the Albanian fishermen belongs to the British-American Company “Costa Crociere”, which owns the Italian cruiser line in Genoa, Italy.

Last January, this company was on the centre of attention after the tragic incident in Italy with Costa Concordia.
