Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The government will bring another normative act to the Parliament, which
will postpone the fiscal amnesty until the end of February. In the
Parliamentary group meeting, Berisha declared that the deadline will be
postponed for other two months, due to the big number of citizens in the
registration offices.
The fiscal pardon law enables the citizens who have bought houses with lower prices than the market to revalue them by paying 1% of the total value, different to 10% of the normal law. This means that if someone has once bought an apartment for 40.000 EUR and now it is valued 100.000 EUR, the citizen would have to pay 10% of the difference, which is considered a profit, and in this example it would be 6000 EUR. But with the fiscal pardon, the citizens will revalue the apartment by paying only 1%, 600 EUR.
“The apartments that have been revalued today reach 700 million USD, and 14.000 families have benefited from this. But they have flocked the registration offices. Now there are the emigrants who are returning for the holidays, and this would be in their favor. This act is very necessary”, Berisha declared.
During the Parliamentary Group meeting, Berisha expressed the government’s determination to not allow the country facing energy crisis due to the drought. For this reason, the government will keep buying electrical power, despite the high price.
“We stand to the principle that a higher price than the energy cost, is the lack of energy. Based on this principle, we will not interrupt the power supply only because of the price. I guarantee that the budget will have the necessary modifications and the country will not suffer power shortage”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister also guaranteed that with the normative act for giving a 50 million USD guarantee to KESH, the public debt will close to the 60% level and will also have a decrease, compared to the last year.
“Last year it was 59.7%, and this year it will be 59%”, Berisha declared.
The inflation level also has been under control, according to the Prime Minister, with the first 11 months of the year closing with a level of 2.9%.
