way a request that the Muslim community had made since 1940.

The tender will be announced within a few days. The cost will be 846.000 EUR and will have a capacity of 350 people. The project was created by Alexandros Tobazi, creator of some of the best mosques in the world.

The mosque will have no minaret, in order to adopt to the surrounding environment and it will be built in Botaniko, a neighbourhood where houses are not allowed to be built and there is no risk to create ghettos. The property belongs to the Greek state which will create a commission of seven years, two of which are proposed by the Muslim community.
