Fires in Dajti continue

A new fire broke up at the Dajti mountain three days ago and the flames are still destroying the forest out of any control from the firefighters.
A helicopter arrived from Turkey this Tuesday morning and used water to stop the expansion of the flames, which might have been set intentionally by the shephards of the Qafe-Molla area. The fire has burned the eastern side of the mountain.
“We have a fire that broke up three days ago. The Forest Service Directory is in full readiness to isolate the fire, together with the army. We are making everything possible for isolating the fire, even with intervention from the air. What is more important is that so far were burned only the wild vegetation areas and we have no economic damage in forests”, declared the Dajti National Park director, Lufti Miftari.
Miftari declared that the protected area is out of danger and isolated.
The Dajti Mountain was burned by several fires this summer. Although the fires were set intentionally, no one has been arrested.
