A fire that started suddenly this afternoon in the area of the tourist village of Dhërmi was extinguished by firefighters and with the help of the Cougar helicopter, which made it possible to intervine from the air.
Meanwhile, the hearth of the fire continues at the base of the mountain area at Qafa Llogorase, helped by the wind blowing from the southeast.
For four hours, firefighters, residents of the area and other state units have been fighting the fire. After they made extinguished the flames the area above the village of Dhërmi, another fire is endangering the region in the base of Llogora.
Although efforts are being made to contain and extinguish the fire, the difficult terrain and strong wind reignite the fire, which is approaching the pine forest.
Residents and firefighters are asking for more forces to keep the fire under control, as it seriously threatens the National Park of Llogora.
