The Albanian Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, declared in Parliament that they are preparing a requalification program for everyone who will be unemployed after casinos and betting shops will be closed.
“That industry turned into a social wound and we chose a drastic measure to shut down an element that was impossible to be taken completely under control. The main concern is about the revenues that the government will not collect, and what will happen with those who will lose their jobs”, Ahmetaj said, adding that these concerns are real, but removing that social wound is a prevailing priority.
As for those who will lose their jobs, Ahmetaj said that they will be part of a specific requalification program, at the National Service of Employment.
