Fiks Fare exposes chrome scandal

22/01/2013 00:00

An investigation led by Top Channel’s program “Fiks Fare” showed how
chrome is stolen each day from legal and illegal mines by an entire
network built on corruption, with connection starting from simple police
agents to high rank officials.

Fiks Fare reported that chrome is mined without permission from Bulqize and is transported to Durres with false documents.

Everything happens on broad daylight and no state institution has reacted, regardless the fact that Fiks Fare reported everything with images, facts and names.

Small firms in Bulqize paid 100.000 EUR for their licence. Unable to pay the fee, some of them operate illegally.

A firm that was licensed to mine chrome has not been allowed to work by two police officers, while illegal firms keep extracting and transporting chrome with false documents to Kosovo and Durres.

Fiks Fare discovered how Durres Port employees were bribed to secure a deposit for the illegal chrome inside the port.

Fiks Fare has reported everything with facts, names and videos, but no state institution has reacted, not even the Ministry, the respective directories, the police or the prosecution.

This situation has damaged almost all state institutions and is constantly causing severe tragedies, returning chrome from a national asset to a curse for some people.
