A wide fire has burned down a vast territory of the Priska commune near
the National Park of Dajt for the last two days. The fires have burned
down four hectares, while the Civil Emergency personnel is working for
its isolation.

Lufti Miftari, head of the Dajti National Park says that they have taken the precautions for isolating the fires, trying to make the best possible with their means. He also declared that there has been help from the army.

“The fire was spread by the strong wind that started since August 13th and the mountainous terrain makes it almost impossible to intervene for the fires. We need an intervention from the air”, Miftari declared.

The head of the Dajti National Park appeals the local administration representatives and the community to help in case of fires.

“Protect the forests, because they are an asset of every citizen. The local administration did not offer their best for eliminating the fire since the beginning”, he declared.

The specialists think that the fires have been lit intentionally, and it is very important to punish the authors, because the economic and environmental damage is huge.
