Party and their right centered allies in majority at the Fier Municipal Council.
During an extraordinary meeting, 16 right centered councilors, together with two councilors from the Socialist Party and one from the Social Democratic Party decided to dismiss the head of the Municipality Council and replace him with someone else. The meeting was held in the presence of two Democratic MPs, Enkelejd Alibeaj and Vasillaq Ngresi.
The voting continued with the discharging of four members from the District Council who were replaced with four others, among whom was Aleksander Myrtaj, the Socialist Councilor who went with the Socialist Movement for Integration and was rewarded for this. They also discharged two Vice Chairmen and the Supervision Board for the Aqueduct, whose management have had many conflicts with the representatives chosen by the Socialist Party in this area. The decisions have brought the reaction of the Mayor.
The Socialist MP, Armando Subashi declared that the decisions of the Municipal Council are invalid.
According to MP Albert Caci, the actions that were undertaken in this meeting of the Fier Municipal Council are a continuance of the DP policy, which is the same in Parliament.
Although the Socialists won the majority on May 8th elections, now they have to face with a Municipal Council that they do not control anymore, since their chosen people passed with the majority and were rewarded for this.
