Fier district’s lock war

The conflict for the Fier Head of the District Council continues, with
two persons from the two main parties claim to have the right to the
post. The Socialist was confirmed by the Court, but doesn’t have the
stamp of the institution. The Democrat has the institution’s stamp, but
was rejected by the court.
The supporters of the latter changed the lock of the office door this Friday, so that the candidate elected by the SP couldn’t enter this Monday.
The supporters of the SP elected candidate rushed to change the door lock again this Monday, which caused a conflict that required the intervention of the police.
The SP elected councilor asked the Prime Minister to punish those who do not respect the legal dispositions, but act based on their private interests, rather than the community’s.
The DP elected councilor appealed the Interior Ministry, the Police Directory, the Prosecution and the Court to take measures for what he considers an unprecedented violation of the Albanian institutions.
The Socialists who own the majority of Fier District say that they will resolve this conflcit definitively in a future District Council meeting.
