Fier, arrests for fake driving licences

18/06/2012 00:00

After an authorized surveillance, the court discovered that 50 people in
Fier have received their driving licenses without being present at the
theory and practice obligatory tests.

As results of the collected evidence, the Fier Task Force has given arrest orders for seven people, four of whom are members of the driving license commission, and three others are driving school directors.

The harshest charge is that of corruption. The money that had to be paid for passing both tests was 40.000 ALL. According to the Prosecution, the driving school directors used to register different individuals in a fictive way.

The task force will continue the investigations for the regional director for road transport services in Fier, Lian Baci, who is suspected as the mediator. The Court has suspended them until the investigation will be over.
