Fewer abroad holiday bookings

The Albanian citizens have spent less money this summer, compared to one
year ago. Bookings to tourist destinations abroad can be afforded by
10% o 1 million citizens that take regular holidays, and this number has
dropped with 10%.

This reduced number is seen even on the quantity of days taken for the holidays, from 15 or 10 now turned to 7 days.

“85% prefer the 7-day packages. This was noted for the Turkish market and the Mallorca beaches. This might be affected by the economic problems of the Albanian families”, says Sadik Malaj, from the Union of Tourism Operators.

The main destinations remain Turkey and Greece, the latter especially because of the cheap offers and the geographical convenience. To this list are added tendencies such as Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Monte Negro and Croatia.

The rest of the citizens make the holidays in Albania. According to Malaj, this number has also dropped in the southern beaches and northern Velipoja and Shengjin. The same thing is noted with the numbers of visitors coming from Kosovo and Macedonia.
