Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Vlore Municipal Council has declared Fatmir Limaj a Citizen of Honor for his contribution in Kosovo’s liberation.
The initiative presented by Mayor Shpetim Gjika was realized on 12 June 2012, the day when the NATO troops entered Kosovo and that is known as the Freedom Day for Kosovo, or the Day of Peace.
On this day, Fatmir Limaj wrote on his Facebook “On this day I swore that I will be enemy to any kind of tyranny in my country. Happy liberation day”.
The motivation of this title says that Fatmir Limaj is the symbol of Kosovo’s struggles for independence, a symbol of heroism and a free, democratic and intellectual spirit of the Kosovo people, and an important factor in the political and diplomatic developments for finalizing Kosovo’s status with the declarations of independence and its international recognition.
