One week ago, farmers from around the country have been protesting against the new fiscal package, which reduces the VAT compensation rate for farmers from 20% to %. However, the government doesn’t seem to have any plan to withdraw from this decision.
According to financial experts, the new laws will force sellers and producers to import fruit and vegetable, rather than producing them in the local market.
Companies that process agricultural goods say that the new package will force farmers to work informally, which would put at risk the food safety as well.
