Farewell to the tragedy students

The homage for the 11 students that died in the Himara tragedy was held at the Aleksander Xhuvani University in Elbasan.

11 photos of the dead girls were placed instead of the caskets.

President Bamir Topi arrived in Elbasan and placed 11 wreaths.

“I am very sad to be part of such a ceremony, for the girls that passed away in the best age. I want to express my most sincere condolences to the relatives and friends in this school. Words in these cases are never enough, because pain is what dominates the man. I wish for these tragedies to never be repeated, and on the other hand we saw the solidarity of our people”, Topi declared.

After 16:00, the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, arrived at the Alexander Xhuvani University. After leaving a message on the memory book, he expressed his condolences to the family members and the entire city of Elbasan.

“I express my most sincere condolences to the citizens of Elbasan. This is a terible tragedy, and I want to express my most sincere condolences and my human solidarity to the relatives of the students that passed away in one of the most tragic accidents that Albania has known in many years”, Prime Minister Berisha declared.

At the Alexander Xhuvani University was also present the Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli, who expressed her deepest condolences on behalf of the Albanian Parliament.

“It is a great sorrow for these girls that passed away in their best age and for their mothers”, Topalli declared.

The bus company that owned the bus of the accident have given no declaration or information. Their premises have been closed while Top Channel cameras filmed that their buses were old.

The Elbasan Prosecution has started the investigation and has seized all documentation and agreements that the university had with the travel company.

People who know the driver, Pellumb Cela, who is among the victims, say good words about his ability as a driver.
