Police authorities held the funeral ceremony for the late Chief of
Police Musa Skura. His wife, children, relatives and colleagues gathered
to pay the last homage at the Martyrs’ Cemetery.

The Albanian Prime Minister declared that his work is an inspiration for the Albanian Police in the war against crime.

“I have full support and zero tolerance in their war against any type of crime. The sublime sacrifice of Musa Skura will be an inspiration for the others, same at it has been for his colleagues who have given their lives to guarantee the order, the property and the life of all citizens”, Berisha declared.

The opposition leader expressed his condolences to the family and declared that crime is creating a frightening advantage.

“These are martyrs in a war where crime is taking a frightening advantage, while police is feeling abandoned and betrayed. We honour the memory of this man and others, who have given their life, and we promise that the day when Police will return in its better shape and the crime will back off is very near”, Rama declared.

Present at the homage ceremony were the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli; the Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, who proposed life sentence for all those who kill police officers; and the leader of the New Democratic Spirit, Bamir Topi, who appealed for harsher laws.

Bajram Skura, Born on July 17th 1963, was survived by his wife and three children. He received severe wounds during a police operation on January 13th, and passed away a few days later at the Padre Pio hospital, Foggia, Italy, where he was receiving a more specialized treatment.
