The body of Ali Podrimja, draped with the national flag of Kosovo was
displayed at the Art Academy of Kosovo, where his work and personality
were honored.
The mourning silence was broken by the verses that the poet had dedicated to life, death, freedom and the geography of Albania, from Mitrovica to Chameria, Ulqin and Presheva.
Many family members and high rank officials honored the poet and accompanied him to his resting place.
Podrlimja’s funeral was closed with the “Farewell” song from the Gjakova Choir of Men.
Podrimja traveled to France on July 16th for participating in the 15th festival “Voices of the Mediterranean”, and he disappeared.
His lifeless body was found on July 21st in a forest near Lodeve, France. The French authorities declared that the causes of death were natural.
