Farewell to Adem Tahiraj

The children, the wife, the relatives and the colleagues of the Shijak Chief of Police, Adem Tahiraj, gave the final farewell to Adem Tahiraj in a ceremony at the martyr’s cemetery.

The Chief of the Shijak Police is resting among the other martyrs that gave their life for a safer Albania. Homage was paid by his friends, colleagues and highest authorities at the Military Headquarters in Tirana.

Prime Minister Berisha promised justice and the rule of law for everyone who dares shooting against a member of the police.

“I guarantee with the biggest determination that the rule of law will punish criminals in the strongest way. A repeated murderer shot the Chief of Police. Justice will say its word and every element of this ugly act will be investigated”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister gave no comment about the fact that the murderer had been released by the justice. The opposition leader, accompanied by most of the Parliamentary MPs, after visiting and meeting the relatives of the latter, was more direct with his accusations against the judiciary and the government.

In a reaction on Twitter Rama declared that the “Reestablishment of law and order is a vital necessity of our time and our main priority to remove this rotten administration”.

Rama also writes that “The high criminality figures are a consequence of this politicization, corruption, incompetence and court that have turned into institutions that pardon criminals”.

The opposition leader closed his impressions about Tahiraj’s funeral by saying that “From the square filled of blue uniforms I left with the bitter sensation of the police officers feeling betrayed by a politicized, corrupted and incompetent leadership”.

Earlier in the morning, Bujar Nishani gave a condolence message to the family of Adem Tahiraj by considering the murder as a very severe act.

In the ceremony was also present the Parliamentary Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, who condemned this act. The same stance was held after this visit by the New Democratic Spirit, which gave its condolences to the family and criticized the crime situation.

Burgaj: Murderer, a gift from the Court

“Ilir Azem Xhakja, 38, resident of Sukth, Durres, a person with a high criminal history, accused of a series of serious crimes, mainly murders, was sentenced to 21 years in prison by the First Court Degree and was arrested by the Police in 2007, but released in 2011”, Burgaj declared.

By clarifying his operation, the Head of the Albanian Police declared that he had turned himself in due to the wide police cordon and handed over the crime weapon, without making any resistance.

“Thanks to the constant pursuit of the Police and based on accurate information, and thanks to a wide police cordon by our officers, we effectuated the arrest”, Burgaj declared.

The Police seized five vehicles as evidence, two of which were at the scene while to others, which were armored, were also used by the author of the crime. The Police found in Xhake’s residence a machine gun, 170 bullets and many plates that were sent to the scientific lab. According to the Police, they are working to find the other suspect, Ledian Krasniqi, who helped Xhake to leave the crime scene.

Homage for Tahiraj

A ceremony was held at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in presence of relatives and police colleagues for Adem Tahiraj, the Chief of the Shijak Police, who was killed yesterday during an operation in Sukth.

Police was able to arrest the suspect for this crime that has shocked the entire Albanian police.

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali berisha, visited the family of Chief Adem Tahiraj, who was killed on duty.

Berisha declared that Tahiraj’s death is a great loss for his family and all Albanians.

“Tahiraj’s loss is a great sorrow for his family, his relatives and colleagues. The family of Chief Tahiraj shares their pain with all Albanians. His loss cannot be compensated with anything. He fell on duty, after an ugly criminal act”, the Prime Minister declared.

Police arrests Ilir Xhakja

The Durres and Renea Police have arrested Ilir Xhakja, from Sukth, sentenced in the past for murder and participation in organized crime, and seized several firearms.

The police is still looking for Ledian Krasniqi, the Xhakja’s nephew, who helped him flee the scene. Police

Xhakja was charged of murder in qualifying circumstances, which could give him 20 years or life in prison.
