Gjin Marku, the head of the National Committee for Blood Feud
Reconciliation, and Pashko Popaj, member of the Peace Missionary
Association and Blood Feud Reconciliation in Malesi e Madhe were sent by
the State Police for criminal prosecution.

Police declared that these citizens have abused with their position by releasing falsified certifications for some people, with the purpose to seek asylum in EU countries.

The Department of Financial Crime and that of Serious Crimes secured information that indicates that the certifications have been released for persons who are not involved in blood feuds.

The missionaries are accused of falsification, after two previous charges raised against the Mayor of Malesi a Madhe and the head of Postriba commune.

The multiple asylum requests in EU countries have put in question the visa liberalization for the entire country. Brussels raised the concern at the European Parliament Foreign Committee, in which they voted the Commission’s proposal for changing the visa regulation.

The Commission for the Issues of Security, Freedom and Justice at the European Parliament reviewed the Commission’s proposal for establishing a safety mechanism that would temporarily return the visa regime when EU countries complain of abuses.
