Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
An alarm for false money circulating in Tirana was given today by gas
stations, which are considered the first victims of falsified money.
Dozens of cases have been reported recently when citizens have had false money in their hands. “Shqip” newspaper has some of the false 500 ALL banknotes, which is the most distributed. You can tell a false one because it is slightly smaller than the original and it has its ink blurred out.
The copying method leaves to be desired, but the producers have tried to make the paper a bit old and it can go without being noticed if hidden among other regular banknotes.
The police is cooperating with the bank to find the origin of the money, while experts advise residents to check the banknotes carefully.
