Explosion in Ballsh

Carelessness in a routine cleaning process of the Balls oil deposits
almost caused a horrible tragedy today. An underground deposit exploded
this morning at 09:300 and injured three ARMO Company workers.
Qemal Hoxhallari from Ballsh, Perparim Beqiraj from Kalenje and Nezir Mucaj were injured by the powerful explosion.
Hoxhallari and Mucaj were urgently sent to the Fier regional hospital, while the 35 year old received the first medical help at the Ballsh hospital.
The latter is out of life threatening danger, but his two colleagues are in serious conditions. After receiving the first aid in Fier, Hoxhallai and Mucaj were sent to Tirana’s Military Hospital.
ARMO has not released any official statement about the accident while the
Fier Police declared that they are investigating the cause of the fire.
These explosions are not new for Ballsh. A similar explosion took place in 2004.
