The Vlore Prefect, Besnik Dervishi, escaped an attack with explosive today while entering the Prime Minister’s office.
The National Guard inspected the vehicle and found 200 grams of C4, two detonators and one cellphone.
The explosive was ready to explode, but it was discovered on time. The National Guard have asked the prefect to leave the car immediately.
Police surrounded the area and the anti-explosive forces took the situation under control. The Prime Minister’s office personnel was evacuated and the traffic was stopped.
The experts used a robot to see if the explosive was active, and then removed it.
The operation was led by the Interior Minister and highest police leaders. According to the Ministry of Defense, this was a murder attempt against the Vlore prefect.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes in investigating the case. Many people were taken into custody today for interrogation.
