Europol arrests 17 drug traffic suspecets, 11 Greek and 6 Albanian

Europol announces the arrest of 17 individuals, members of organized
crime networks involved in drug traffic. Six Albanians and 11 Greek
citizens were arrested in an operation led by Greece, but supported by
Belgium and Europol.

The network was mainly based in Greece, and is suspected of making millions round Europe with cocaine and cannabis, which has been transported through Bulgaria and Austria.

The public announcement on the official website of Europol says that other operations were held in Greece and Belgium. Searches in the homes of the suspects have resulted with 698 kg of cannabis in Greece and 96.5 kg in Belgium. 15 people were arersted in Greece and 2 in Belgium.

The investigations are still undergoing, while other arrests are expected in the days to come. Europol has supported these investigations by offering assistance and operational support.
