The European Socialist Party held a conference today in Tirana, in presence of its President, Sergei Stanishev.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that they discussed about the recommendation for Albania’s EU accession negotiations.
“We hope that the Commission will consider our homework well done and give us a clear recommendation for the negotiations. Then we will have time to justify our work with all the member countries. I believe that we are well prepared for the next phase as well”, Rama said.
The President of the European Socialist Party underlined that they are here with good messages for the Albanian politics. He greeted the progress with the judicial reform and appealed for more cooperation between Western Balkan countries.
“We are here with good political messages for Albanians. There will be important events during the next week, not only for Albanians but for all of Western Balkan as well. A very difficult reform has been carried out. The judiciary system will be transparent. This is a credit not only to Mr.Edi Rama and the Socialist Party, but also about the anti-cannabis campaign. This is a very important moment. It is important to cooperate with the region, including Albania. I believe that the cooperation with Montenegro has improved. There has been progress with Greece. It should continue with other countries as well. Many countries have said that there will be no more enlargements if there are problems with the commission, but it isn’t true. Thanks to Mogherini’s efforts, we have a credible strategy which is a clear indicator for how we must progress”, said the President of the European Socialist Party, Sergei Stanishev.
