The government may be forced to change the budget revenues due to the devaluation of the Albanian Lek.
Top Channel has learned that the Council of Ministers is expected to pass a normative act to amend the budget mid-year.
Sources from the government said for Top Channel that they are discussing two scenarios: the first one is a plan to reduce the spending with 3 billion ALL, less than approved at the beginning of the year.
The second variant foresees no cuts, but a redistribution of the public investment fund in projects that are progressing slowly.
According to the Ministry of Finances, the government has lost 3.5 billion ALL due to the Euro devaluation.
Most of the budget revenues are collected through the Customs and tax on imports.
None of the scenarios plans to increase loans. Sources told for Top Channel that they have not decided yet which variant will be chosen. But what’s certain is that the budget will not be left without amends even this year.
