From Berlin, during a meeting of the German Ministers of Defense,
Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Development, the Highest Representative
of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica
Mogherini, commented the historic visit of the Albanian Prime Minister
in Belgrade, considering it a positive sign of change for the Western
Balkan regional dialogue”.
This tow-day visit should represent a turning point for the relations between the two countries. We expect both leaders to show maturity and political courage in order to see towards the future and build relations after so many years”, declared the new Chief of the European Diplomacy.
Before the visit in Belgrade, the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, wsa invited at the Commission for European Matters at the Budestag, and attended a conversation with the State Minister for Europe in Germany.
Some European Foreign Ministers and European MPs commented the visit of Prime Minister Rama in Serbia. “History is being writte”, said the Slovak Miroslav Lajcak, who underlines that this is the first visit of an Albanian leader since 1946.
The Swedish Carl Bildt considers this an important visit for political talks.
The Slovenian MP, Tanya Fajon, welcomed “the historic visit of Prime Minister Rama in Serbia”, adding that “this is a courageous step for the future of the region”.
