EU on murdered Judge: “State is responsible to protect women who are threatened”

The EU mission in Albania expressed their concern after a 39-year-old
judge was shot dead today in Tirana by her former husband, despite the
fact that the court had issued a protection order for her, after her
husband was arrested in 2015 for attempting to kill her in front of the
children.
“Horrible! Another domestic violence victim in Albania. Protection of women who are threatened for their lives is clearly a responsibility of the state”, says the EU reaction on social networks.
EU underlines that the respective institutions need a coordinated response on this issue. “Women should not live in fear to live the life they want”, the message states.
