Peter Glerum, the Director of the EU Civilian Protection Team, was at the meeting of the Albanian Defense Minister with the EU Ambassador, Olta Xhacka and Luigi Soreca.
“I’m proud to be leading a team of European experts to assist your country. I’m here with an EU and a UN team, in order to coordinate our reaction. We started working with the rescue operation. Teams from the EU and abroad arrived to Albania to help the people under ruins. This was concluded with several successful operations. We also had losses, because the situation was chaotic at first. Now we have a well-founded structure with Minister Çuçi. We support him, and we are going to inspect all buildings so that Albanian can know whether they can return to their homes”, he said.
