London’s “Sunday Times” has dedicated a detailed article to the Albanian
Soprano, Ermonela Jaho, who starts the Madam Butterfly tour at the
London Royal Opera from March 23rd.

Author Hugh Canning writes that Ermonela, a “Proper Madam”, is the new Butterfly of this opera house, the antithesis of those packaged divas who come to the big opera houses with a couple of acclaimed aria albums, high-profile press interviews and a PR machine behind them.

“The Albanian soprano, who hit the headlines when she replaced Anja Harteros in Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Royal Opera House in 2011, returns this month for an even more demanding role: the heart-rending Cio-Cio-San, the tragic geisha in Puccini’s Madam Butterfly”, Sunday Times writes.

The British Newspaper presents a detailed summary of Ermonela’s artistic career, who comes this Month to London after shining in Koln, Avignon, Mynich, Berlin, Paris and Sidney, Australia.

The article quotes renowned orchestra directors saying that Jaho will be wonderful with her singing challenges.

The Albanian soprano speaks about her country in this interview, a wonderful promotion for Albania in important media outlets, something she never forgets whenever she is interviewed.

The Sunday Times notes that the tickets are almost sold out for March 23rd.
