The Turkish President, Recep Tayip Erdogan, and the Albanian President,
Bujar Nishani, laid symbolically the first foundation stone of the
Namazgja mosque that will be built in the Albanian capital.

“This mosque will be able to offer service to 5000 people at once. It is the clear symbol of the good relations between our people. I hope that in my next visit to Albania, I will pray to this mosque”, Erdogan declared.

“Let this deserved and delayed holy place of the Albanian Muslim community, be a milestone in the path of sincere friendship that the people of two nations build each day, with the clear objective for a better Balkan and a better Europe, with more peace and more security”, Nishani declared.

The Turkish President mentioned the parallel structures that operate in Turkey, a reference to the activities of his biggest enemy, Abudallah Gulen, saying they also operate in Albania.

“I treated this issue with my brothers Rama and Nishani. I believe they will do the right thing. The Albanian institutions should never tolerate this organization”, Erdogan declared.

Although Prime Minister Rama was absent in the ceremony, Erdogan said they discussed the issue even in an earlier meeting.

Besides the mosque, Turkey has offered to fund the project of the New Parliament at the current offices, the reconstruction of the Gjirokaster Castle and 40 characteristic houses in the museum part of the city.

“After the electoral campaign in Turkey, we are expecting a meeting of both governments, both cabinets, in which we will sign the strategic partnership”, Rama declared.

“As for the restructuring of the Parliament, it will be a turning point, because Turkey will realize this work. The project is ready. After this we will open another mosque”, Erdodan declared.

Erdogan met with the Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, and the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha.
