The Foreign Commission of the European Parliament has approved the
resolution for Albania, which says that our country has progressed with
the reforms, but more work is yet needed.

The resolution for Albania says that if our country wants to start negotiations for the EU, we need to intensify the efforts for reforms in key areas, such as the justice sector, fight against corruption, organized crime, public administration and the basic rights.

“The Foreign Commission of the European Parliament remains concerned about the enlargement of corruption in education, health, justice and other areas. The self-censorship among journalists is also a concern. Sometimes they are even physically stopped from following specific events. They are attacked or threatened because of their job”, the European Parliament official announcement says.

The resolution welcomes only the commitment of Albania in the fight against radicalization and terrorism, and greets our country for taking measures in stopping people from joining ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The resolution for Albania passed with 47 votes in favor, three against and four abstained..
